“Why Bother?”

Why bother? talks about the environment and how people are trying to reduce there carbon footprint by biking to work, lowering the thermostat, and doing other various things to use less power. If most people don’t try to change and make there carbon footprint smaller then why even bother trying. It is the same thing with Yucca Mountain, if the world is going to become much worse then why would it matter if nuclear waste is in Yucca. “Why Bother?” most people would say, But John D’Agata would say people should do whatever they can to prevent harm to the environment. This relates to my research question of how dangerous is nuclear waste to the environment? because if there is no point in trying to help the environment then nuclear waste is harmless in the fact that it doesn’t matter where we store it. Pollan would say that it doesn’t matter how harmful nuclear waste is to the environment because it doesn’t matter do to the fact that the environment is already to destroyed to come back from.
