“Internet Monitoring of Suicide Risk in the Population”

“Internet Monitoring of Suicide Risk in the Population” by McCarthy M, it states that “Google internet
search engine activity for suicide-related terms from the years 2004–2009 was measured and correlated to available suicide and intentional self-injury data from the Centers of Disease Control (CDC)”.

From the article by “Internet Monitoring of Suicide Risk in the Population”, McCarthy expresses his opinions to where students now of days, can get ideas for committing suicide. He states that now of days anyone can go on the internet and search up whatever they want. And those students are capable of doing this act, if they are put to the test. After reading this article, this source is mostly leading towards the angle of that suicide is one issue that we might not be able to stop or get a control of. Because the technology is growing so rapidly and the population is growing as well that there is no way for everyone to get help, or get the message that they are a part of this world like everyone else. We are all the same. This source is showing that there are new ways that people are trying to commit suicide.  Another source called “Comprehensive College Student Suicide Assessment” talks about how suicide affects everyone who comes across it or comes in contact with it. These two sources relate to one another because one leads up to the other. McCarthy talks about how students are committing suicide and Paladino (author of Comprehensive College Student Suicide Assessment) talks about what happens next once the worse has occurred. And this source relates to my question because it shows the effect that suicide has on Americans. And in my paper I will show that suicide is affecting Americans so much that now there is new ways of finding ideas of suicide.
