            In “Nuclear Power and the Public” M.V. Ramana discusses the diminished public view on nuclear power after the Fukishima crisis after the Japanese Earthquake in 2011. He believes the public’s view about nuclear power will only decline, which will make it harder to expand nuclear energy. Ramana and D’agata share a common interest in nuclear power. They both explain with the benefits of nuclear power also comes the risks and dangers of this powerful energy. After “About A Mountain” the nuclear crisis took place in Japan, so D’Agata could not comment on it. But Ramana starts of where D’Agata leaves off by talking about the crisis in Fukishima and explains the dangers of nuclear power. In both cases the authors are concerned about the growing danger of nuclear power and it’s riskful/harmful waste that it produces. He talks about trust in the nuclear industry, like how D’Agata talks about trust in our government. I believe this article relates well to my research question because he basically gives his opinion on the public’s opinion of my question. Is the saving of our resources worth the risks of nuclear power? Do the benefits of nuclear power outweigh the cons? I will use this to focus on the advantages versus the disadvantages.
