In “1983: New York, Cure For An Addiction”, they talk about how they elect men and women who are addicted to preparing for war.  They say they do not mean to do it intentionally it just happens.  Partying and war are completely different topics but as they are saying preparing for war is their addiction and the addiction in Las Vegas is partying.  Addictions take place in both of these no matter how little it is. Partying destroys people because in Las Vegas basically you have many people who do it every night and they do not realize that they are putting their selves out for trouble.  The same for the people who love war, they are setting people up to get killed, which is not the right thing to do. Many people who believe that fighting makes everything better are wrong.  D’Agata would say that people need to make the right decisions and not just be implusive.  People who believe in the luxury of partying can just destroy themselves.  This relates to my research question because there are addictions everywhere no matter how big or small.  There is drinking, drugs, partying, and the addiction to prepare for what is not needed, (war).  This is big deal all over the world because addiction does not stop for many of people because there is no one to pull them away from it.  Why is there no one out their to help them make better choices, maybe it is because they do not want to listen to anyone anymore.
