"Suicide Attempts: Prevention Of Repetition."

Brian Mishara, et al. "Suicide Attempts: Prevention Of Repetition." Canadian Journal Of Psychiatry 56.10                               (2011): 621-629. Academic Search Premier. Web. 17 Apr. 2012.

Suicide Attempts: Prevention of Repetition is a work written by five doctors. Marc Daigle, Louise Pouliot, Francois Chagnon, Brian Greenfield, and Brian Mishara. They present an overview of promising strategies in preventing the repetition of suicidal behavior. They cover many treatments and analyze them with all sorts of tests. What interests me is the inclusion of specific facts from tests, such as who was tested. As it turns out not all the tests had a stable base, most tests tested treatment of specific aspects of suicidal thoughts like depression. My other source provides a good understanding of the test results, but not so much of the tests. These two scholarly sources complement each other nicely. Specifically in this article psychological help is touched upon. My essay is primarily about this aspect of helping dissipate suicidal thoughts. It provides great information on psychological theories and potential treatments to help people cope with their environment and feelings. This can easily be pulled into my paper to tie it together because of this aspect. It also explains that psychological help is more effective for most people which is good news because it tends to be cheaper and almost anyone can help their family member or friend.
