"Future of Language"

Masci, David. "The CQ Researcher Online." CQ Researcher by CQ Press. CQ Press, 17 Nov.       2000. Web. 18 Apr. 2012.<http://library.cqpress.com/cqresearcher/document.php?id=c

David Masci’s article “Future of Language” is a piece of writing that discusses the effects of new technologies, like the internet, on the English language. The article talks about the idea that most people will be speaking only one language in the future. This language is predicted to be English. “Future of Language” is similar to another one of my sources titled “The Future of Language” by David Graddol. Both of these articles predict major changes in language due in part to technological changes. The two articles also both believe that English will someday be the dominant language all around the world. While Masci’s article focuses on the international results of a change in language, Graddol’s writing asks the question “will the future understand us?” This source will help me bring facts and information about changes the changes of language in places all around the world.
