Stefanone, Michael, Derek Lackaff, and Devan Rosen. "The Relationship between
Traditional Mass Media and “Social Media”: Reality Television as a Model for Social Network Site Behavior." Journal of Broadcasting & Electronic Media 54.3 (2010): 508-25. Print. In this Journal entry the authors attempt to relate people’s usage of social networking to their viewing of reality television. The authors are trying to say that people do to reality television and social networking feel like they have a closer relationship to celebrities then they actually do. They use the Social cognitive theory to find data that they can use to support the feeling they have that people relate more to celebrities that they do not know in their actual everyday lives. I plan on using this source to back up my argument in my research paper. My argument in my research paper is that I believe that people now a days due to the amount of reality television and how much the media exploits the lives of celebrities that we now believe we know the celebrities in reality.
