William Savage, being a professor, describes how his students make multiple writing errors, mainly spelling inhis article “All Would have been Caos.” In his article, Savage quotes an essay written by one of his students, revealing their many errors, proving how now, in this modern technological age, students can’t write right. At one point, Savage describes technology being a contributing factor to student’s numerical errors, similar to how Nicholas Carr thinks in “Is Google Making Us Stupid”. Savage describes how students don’t want to look through dictionaries when given the chance, which Carr would say is laziness brought on from the internet. Whereas Andrew Sullivan would not believe that technology is a factor. If anything, technology would improve their writing skills, make it more in-depth, and personal. Since spell check is a way to correct spelling errors, in that factor, Savage might believe that it is a beneficial tool. But since it is a way to get out of using a dictionary, and being self-productive, Savage would think that it is a tool that makes us lazy, and not require us to think enough.
