"The Internet: Warning! Handle with Care" by Stephen Fuchs

Fuchs, Stephen.  "The Internet: Warning! Handle with Care | Just A Monkey With A Keyboard."   Just A Monkey With A Keyboard. Web. 09 Nov. 2011.

In his essay “The Internet: Warning! Handle with Care.” Fuchs describes to us the importance of the written word and how people interpret those words that makes the most profound impact on the world.  He goes on to express how the internet has dramatically changed the level of access that people have to written works.  Stephen Fuchs states that the internet has created an information boom that has both helped humanity by allowing unprecedented amounts of access to written works but he also describes the negative effects. He says that with such access, the information given on the internet no longer goes through the hands of publishers and editors so the quality of works on the internet are not factually based but are based more on opinion.  I agree with Mr. Fuchs as he has a very valid point.  There is nothing to stop people from publishing whatever they want on the internet. False and inaccurate information is being displayed on the internet on a level never seen before.  I will use Fuchs essay to support my argument about the internet being a bad source of information and the negative effects it has on our learning habits and our society.
